CHAPTER ONE

Jackie Miles looked down on the city of London through the black-tinted glass of her office window. She stood erect and thoughtful, facing out over the rooftops of the skyline that by now had become so familiar to her. She felt good, so very good, things were coming together quite nicely both in the League and also in the company, where her new situation had been confirmed by the Directors only the day before.

How she would enjoy the entertainment to come! She gloated inwardly as the object of her gloating entered and sat before her desk

"Had I wanted you to sit, I would have provided a chair," she said without turning.

Awkwardly, he rose to his feet.

"I have been here, as sales director, for two months." she said, turning and fixing him with a hard stare. Her tone was harsh and reprimanding, then softened to a coaxing voice. "But I have been to this building before - do you recall our previous meeting, Gerald?"

She sat down slowly, deliberately sitting sideways as she crossed her legs, the side of her upper thigh offered beneath the covering of her skirt.

He tried to avert his gaze from her as his confused mind tried to recall their previous meeting. Again and again his eyes returned to drop down and search the hem of her skirt and beyond, to probe hopefully at the point where her soft creamy thighs met at the seat of the chair. The dark tops of her stockings grabbing his attention and distracting him further.

Jackie grinned, her brown eyes sparkling as she enjoyed the game. She loved it, the way they wanted her, lusted hungrily for her - yet she was untouchable and unavailable to them. Her nipples hardened, pressing against the inside cups of her tight bra, she felt a gripping deep in her vulva; it felt so good to be in command.

"Let's refresh your memory," she offered sympathetically. "I came here as a visitor, we met in the corridor outside your office."

He shook his head in denial that he recalled it at all.

"You were then, as you are now, loud and self-opinionated, your comments about me I recall to this day. Loudly and for the benefit of your junior listeners, you sought to humiliate me."

His expression changed, to one of mortification. Horrified and concerned, he shuffled his feet on the thick pile carpet as she prepared to quote him.

"'I know what she needs, I'd give the snotty bitch one. I'd soon make her eyelids flutter and get her screaming for mercy.' Do you remember now, Gerald?"

He blushed deep red in the silence that followed, his eyes flicked over to the smirking Kerry, the personal assistant that he had tried so hard to impress for over a year now. How he longed to get into the little slut's knickers and show how good he was with women. She had constantly resisted and now she was laughing at him.

"Office banter," he said at last, trying desperately to ease his embarrassment. "Silly office banter, that's all it was."

"To a visitor?" Jackie questioned seriously. "What kind of image is that to portray?"

He had no answer, his gaze dropped, guilt-ridden as he waited for her to continue.

"Do you still hold that opinion of me, Gerald? Do still think that I am in dire need of a good seeing-to, now I am your boss? To you still think you could make my eyelids flutter and have me begging for mercy?"

"All right!" he shouted back angrily. "I was wrong - I'm sorry."

Jackie re-crossed her legs and sat back deeper in her chair, savoring a moment of silence before speaking once again.

"Your apology is accepted and just for future reference, Gerald, my sex life is - I'm glad to say - both plentiful and totally satisfactory without the need to call upon your considerable experience in that department."

She could almost read his mind at the mention of her plentiful sex-life. His eyes moved up to her breasts. He was imagining her naked and having sex, grunting animal-like as she was being serviced, a wanton whore that loved the attentions of a good stiff cock. The thought of his thoughts excited her.

He didn't answer, his back straightened and his shoulders drew back to an erect posture in acknowledgement of his now defeated and lessened position within the company. Defensive and proud, he tried to bear defeat with dignity, if this ever came out the office staff would have a field day and life here wouldn't be worth living. His position and authority would be eroded to a level that would make his continuance as sales manager totally impossible. He decided to accept the situation as gracefully as he could in the circumstances. His time would come.

Jackie then moved the subject back to business.

"You will, Gerald, report back to me at five o'clock with the full set of sales figures that I asked you for earlier in the week. The figures that you thought that by delaying and withholding from me would embarrass me in front of the other directors at the board meeting yesterday."

"But it's Friday!" he retorted in astonishment. "You know my train leaves at four-thirty! "

"Five o'clock, Gerald," Jackie repeated seriously, her tone harsher and containing a hint of threat.

"Monday," he said quickly and hopefully. "I'm away for the weekend, but I'll have them ready for Monday."

Jackie held his stare, her brown piercing eyes conveying an outright but silent challenge.

"Today at five," she restated firmly and waved her hand casually in dismissal; indicating that his interview had ended, his presence no longer required and nothing more to be said.

Gerald hesitated, fumbling for words. Then he sighed deeply in resignation, shrugged his shoulders and stormed from the room, slamming the door noisily behind him.

Kerry sat silently, testing the atmosphere and unsure whether to speak or not.

"Coffee?" Jackie suggested brightly clapping her hands together and shuffling her chair closer to the desk.

"My God!" Kerry breathed in awe as the silence broke. "No-one has ever dared to take him on and survived."

"Until now," Jackie responded easily. "You know, he can't possibly get that information to you by the end of today."

Jackie sat back in her chair, a look of achievement about her.

"He can't?" she questioned innocently.

"The sales information comes in today and is collated late this evening, then, if he worked all weekend, he could produce them by midday Monday at the earliest. The computer system won't allow him..."

Kerry was interrupted by Jackie's beaming smile that turned to a knowing raising of the eyebrows.

"Really?" she stated. "Then he has a working weekend ahead of him doesn't he?"

Kerry stood bemused as her mind absorbed the impossibility of the request and the reply to her advice. Then she too smiled and burst out laughing.

"I'll get the coffee," she giggled and almost ran from the room.
